Lately I've been thinking about so-called "negativity" and the descrepancies between people's thoughts and their actions. I've often had people tell me I'm too negative. I think I'm just a little weak in the internal censor department is all. Meanwhile those around me who like to bandy about terms like "karma" and "good vibes" are the ones who's actions are ugly, despite all the lip service they pay to peace and love.
But before I get into specific instances or naming names, let me get back to the topic of "negativity." I'd much rather discuss that than "libel".
I have a friend who is vehemently against negative people or attitudes. After listening to her complain about people who complain all the time it suddeny dawned on me.She was very negative in her stance against negativity. A beautiful conundrum, from my point of view.
Negative doesn't necessarily equate with Bad. To harbor negative opinions towards things such as rape, murder, or disease will lead to measures being taken to avoid these things. In that respect, it can actually be pretty healthy. And that's a positive, a will to well-being. It's kind of like the whole principle with the yin-yang symbol, where each one contains a dot of the other.
So I'm negative and bitchy. So what? I'm becoming clearing on what I need to do, for the best, all the time. And I think I'm learning how to harness that negativity into action. BACK
